Location. Adjacent to North Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile and across from Oak Street beach, The Drake Hotel is one block from the shops of Water Tower Place and the John Hancock Center in Chicago, Ill. The hotel overlooks Lake Michigan just three blocks away.
Hotel Features. First impressions of this opulent 1920s hotel lean heavily on the palatial Italian Renaissance lobby, flanked with carved wood ceilings and paneling, red accent walls and subtle lighting from ornate chandeliers. Boutique lobby shops include Giovanni and Chanel stores and an art gallery, jeweler, florist shop and barber parlor. The renowned Cape Cod Room serves seafood specialties such as Smoked Scottish Salmon and Classic Lobster Thermidor, while offering a glimpse of the wood bar where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe carved their initials. Additional dining options include the Drake Bros. steakhouse and Sunday brunch overlooking Lake Michigan, the Coq d'Or red leather piano lounge, and exclusive dining at Club International. An intimate cocktail lounge, Palm Court, hosts traditional English tea time with live harp music next to an antique marbled fountain.

Flexible event space showcases the Italian architecture Gold Coast Room as one of its two ballrooms and a staffed business center is also on site. The polished wood fitness center provides cardiovascular and strength-training equipment for a fee, with complimentary earphones during workouts.

Guestrooms. Neoclassical décor furnishes The Drake Hotel's 535 guestrooms with scalloped curtains, custom cherry wood and brass décor and hues of purple and gold.
