A traditional hotel occupying a grand Renaissance palace in central Florence, the Hotel Paris lies within 500 metres of Cathedral Square. Antique-style furniture including some original pieces, rich coloured fabrics and original artworks in keeping with the spirit of the building adorn the 68 air-conditioned guestrooms, where satellite television, direct-dial phones and minibars feature alongside grand fireplaces and frescoed ceilings.
Guests can choose pastries, cereals, fruits, cheese and cold meats from the breakfast buffet and eat beneath the elaborate frescoed ceiling in the dining room. The terrace offers panoramic views across the city rooftops and provides a pleasant location for an aperitif, which can also be taken in the lounge bar or out on the first floor patio garden. Knowledgeable staff can provide local information and the 24-hour front desk has a safe-deposit box for valuables. Many of Florence's key sights are a short stroll from the hotel; San Lorenzo market and Santa Maria Novella Church are within 200 metres, while Rucellai Palace, Strozzi Palace and Medici Palace are all within 500 metres. Florence Vespucci Airport is six kilometres from the hotel. The airport is a short taxi ride from town (costing around 15 EUR) although it is also possible to take the half-hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, about 200 metres from the hotel.
