The Grand Hotel Villa Cora is a traditional Florentine building set in parkland and located beside the Bobolino Gardens and a short complimentary shuttle ride to Ponte Vecchio. The 48 guestrooms have traditional decor with warm colour schemes and tiled wood floors, low-level lighting and classical wood furnishings including dressing tables and chairs. All rooms open onto balconies and are equipped with flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, wireless Internet connections and minibars.
The hotel's restaurant, the Taverna Machiavelli, features traditional decor with vaulted ceilings and chandeliers and serves Italian dishes and local Tuscan specialities. Guests can also dine on the copper-roofed veranda overlooking the pool. The hotel houses a large swimming pool surrounded by a terrace equipped with sunbeds and beach umbrellas. The hotel provides transportation to a local fitness centre and spa, one kilometre away; guests benefit from discounted access and services can be paid for directly at the hotel. Gala banquets of up to 250 people can be held in the hotel's frescoed function room, and conferences and seminars of up to 150 people can be accommodated in the hotel's meeting facilities. Audiovisual equipment is available upon request. Those visiting on business can stay connected via wireless Internet access, and secretarial services are available in the business centre. Staff at the 24-hour front desk are on hand to arrange babysitting and childcare services, exchange currency and store valuables in the safe- deposit box. Motorists will find complimentary parking facilities on site. Florence offers a wealth of attractions, many of which are within one kilometre of the hotel, including the Piazzale Michaelangelo and the Boboli Garden. The famous Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio are both 1.5 kilometres away. The Academy of Fine Arts, showcasing Michelangelo's 'David', is four kilometres from the hotel. Amerigo Vespucci Airport is ten kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
